Dr. Lara Long finished her undergraduate work at the University of Washington and Washington State University. She went on to chiropractic school at Life Chiropractic College West in the bay area and graduated in 1995. Within her time at Life West she was involved in two mission trips to El Salvador. Her passion of bringing chiropractic to other countries in need was inspired by her trips to Central America.
She made the decision to come back to Washington and practice with her family at Renaissance Chiropractic Center in Tacoma. After over a year of working with her family and building a practice, she realized it was time for her to move on to a new place and follow her dreams. She left a year later for Costa Rica with the determination to open a practice and bring this wonderful healthcare to a place that truly needed it. Dr. Lara not only exceeded her goals of building a successful practice in the heart of San Jose, she was also one of 10 chiropractors who had an integral part of making chiropractic a legalized form of healthcare in Costa Rica. Now, because of Dr. Lara's efforts, there are over 100 practicing chiropractors in Costa Rica.
In June of 2000, she made her way back to Washington and started over again. She reunited with the love of her life, Brian McCormick, who she first met during chiropractic college while living in San Francisco. Brian is the loving father of their four children, Stefano, Jack, Elle and Finley, and allows her to be who she is and supports her passion to do what she loves. Being the determined chiropractor that she is, she had Long Chiropractic Center up and running in May of 2001, with her sister Dr. Rebecca Long.
Her passion is to help as many people as possible through chiropractic. Her scope of practice ranges from infants to the elderly, wellness and family, sports, auto and work injuries. Due to her time in Costa Rica, she is also fluent in Spanish and can reach out to the Spanish speaking community. There is no one she can't help!!!
